It will Curl Your Lashes

Mechanical Curl

One of the easiest things you can do to enhance your eyes is to use an eyelash curler. You can buy normal ones or you can purchase a heated curler. Using one of these will make your eyes look bigger and brighter. They work best on clean eyelashes makes sure that do not have any mascara. If you do, wash it off with eye makeup remover.

Cold metal eyelash curlers create the same effect as electric heated eyelash curlers; they gently bend the lashes creating a fresh and open look. The procedure has to be applied every time that make up is applied and is not permanent.

I have been curling my lashes for years; it opens my eye up and makes my lashes look longer.  I have tried many eyelash curlers.  My all time favorite is Shu Uemura’s curler which costs about $20.  However, Maybelline’s eyelash curler works as well for me and at a third of the price.  I have purchased and tried the heated curlers, but they were not as effective for me, so I do not recommend them because the shape of them does not conform to my lashes and I do not get enough curl in my fine silky lashes.

The trick to making stick-straight lashes like mine curl is to heat up the metal eyelash curler with a blow-dryer for a few seconds and press. Blow warm air on it for no longer than five seconds and then touch the metal. Let it cool a few seconds if it is too hot. You definitely do not want to burn your eyelid.

Curling the eyelashes has to be undertaken with the greatest of care. Especially people with short or very little eyelashes have to make sure to not get burned when using a heated curler, as the curler is used so close to the skin of the eyelid. Open the curler and clamp down on your lashes near the roots. Hold this for ten to thirty seconds. Never curl your lashes after you have applied your mascara. If you do, your eyelashes could stick to the curler.

Excessive curling eyelashes may break or get damaged in the same way that hair that gets styled and blow dried too much, breaks and possibly falls out.  If you tend to curl your eyelashes a lot it can be a good idea to use eyelash oils to feed and repair the eyelashes in between curling treatments.

Chemical Curl

Eyelash perming is used for people who prefer a more permanent solution of curling.  Chemical curling lasts 4 – 6 weeks.  This procedure offers men and women a more natural way of making the eyelashes more visible and plumper. Active women can benefit from eyelash perming because the curls of the eyelashes will not go away even in extreme physical conditions. Men today are also using eyelash perming to enhance appearance dramatically without an eye-catching change.

 The Procedure

Lashes

Your eye makeup is removed completely, then using the desired rod size, small, medium or large, the technician will wrap your eyelashes very carefully around the rod ensuring that they are straight and not overlapping. A permanent wave lotion is applied and left for 7-10 minutes. The lashes will then be cleaned and a hypoallergenic moisturizer applied to the lids.

The aesthetician basically has to place a mini-roller along your upper lashes, curl your lashes round the roller and glue them into place, then apply a mild perming solution to your lashes and then leave the perm to take effect. After leaving the perming solution on for about 20 minutes, the glue and perming solution is gently removed and low and behold you have perfectly curled lashes!

Your eyes look wider and your lashes look lovely and long. You also get a little bit of conditioner brushed onto your lashes to help keep them looking lovely and soft. The most time consuming part of this is the curling and gluing of the lashed round the roller, as each lash has to be separated and unkinked so it can be curled round the roller properly. The aesthetician has to make sure that no lower eyelashes are curled round the roller before placing a couple of cotton pads over your eyes and leaving you to develop.

Whenever considering any procedure that involves chemicals near the eye, you should make sure that your State Board of

Cosmetology allows these procedures and make sure that the person who is doing the procedure has been properly trained and performs this procedure on a regular basis.
