The entertainment capital of the world! And now, one of the most incredible golf vacation destinations in North America. There are dozens of golf courses in the region from Primm/ Laughlin to the west, throughout Las Vegas, and to Mesquite and St. George, Utah to the east.
Every hotel within 100 miles of the Strip bills itself as a Las Vegas golf resort. Most of the big-name casinos have their own lobby golf concierge (whose advice is often anything but unbiased). Even the cabbies are eager to tell you where to golf.
But for all this golf in your face, true golf resorts are rare in Nevada. Florida and Arizona outclass the Silver State when it comes to the traditional high-end place with a golf course or two right outside your hotel window.
That's not say Nevada lacks great places to stay and play. It just takes a little more research to separate the worthy ones from the cast of pretenders. When it comes to golf resorts here, there are definite differences in quality across the board. |
