Top 3 Tips to be Beautiful Inside & Out!

beautiful-woman1.jpg

Do we really need to spend a great amount of on products or artificial enhancements to make ourselves beautiful?  A positive attitude, a sound mind and body, and a positive well-being are the top three assets that will help you glow from within. Here are the top 3 tips on how you can be beautiful  inside out:

1. Explore yourself! Know who you are and be comfortable with yourself.    The way that you feel about yourself will reflect on the outside especially on your facial expression.. If you are feeling stressed and annoyed, it will be shown on your facial expression no matter how much makeup you put on or how well you dress.

2. You are unique! Be confident and embrace your uniqueness.    Beauty is simply a matter of perception.  This vitality comes from their inner confidence. You need to focus on your good points and make an effort to bring out the best of who and what you are.

3. Reward yourself – you deserve it! Pamper yourself, eat well and take good care of yourself.    Good health is essential to further enhance your inner beauty. Looking pale and unhealthy that comes from bad eating habits and not spending enough time exercising will not benefit you.    Remember that eating healthy does not include starving yourself.

Pamper your self from time to time as a reward for all of the hard work that you do.   By following these tips, you are on your way to be truly beautiful - both inside and out!

Man-icure, anyone?

male-facial.jpg

The spa experience is no longer just a woman’s world There was a time when the spa was a woman’s escape. Not anymore: Today’s man manicures, too. “The spa experience is really not seen as a frou-frou place of pampering anymore,” said Lynne McNees, president of the International Spa Association. “It’s seen as a place to go to take care of yourself and to really focus on a healthier lifestyle.”

According to the ISPA, men make up 31 percent of all spa-goers, up from 24 percent in 2002. And while massage (particularly sports massage) is still the No. 1 men’s treatment, McNees said facials, pedicures and manicures aren’t far behind. Men are just as concerned about looking good as women are.” Indeed, the kempt man has come a long way since a sinister Christian Bale in “American Psycho” made it appear as if only psychotic men used moisturizer.

And considering that a (naturally) suntanned face is no longer considered “healthy,” and copious amounts of chest hair lost mass appeal around, say, 1979, it’s no wonder more and more men are flocking to spas and salons for facials and “manscaping” (slang for body-hair trimming). “If the man is going to expect the woman to look good, why shouldn’t the woman expect the man to look good?” asked Vic Sosikian, owner of the Mark Matthew Fine Gentlemen’s Grooming Club in Studio City, an upscale barber shop that offers massage, facials and other spa services for men. “Men’s grooming is something that we should have been doing all along.” But since men-only spas are still the exception, many facilities that have long been popular with women are creating separate menus to appeal to a man’s sensibilities and to quell any potential spa timidity.

Some spas even offer men’s below-the-belt waxing, an arguable final frontier when it comes to making the men’s spa experience on par with its female-oriented counterpart. “We do what men demand,” Sosikian said, adding that the more “complicated” waxing can cost upward of $75. “Some guys just want their arm hair trimmed. To be honest, what other spa does that?” Honestly? Not many. Spas for Just for men in California

Best Ways To Salvage Summer Skin

beautiful-face.jpg

This time of year, dermatologists’ offices tend to be full of regretful patients dealing with late-summer sunburns or the splotches, dry scales and brown spots they’ve accumulated over the past few months.

Luckily, the options are just about endless, ranging from exfoliators and hydrating creams you can use regularly to stronger peels and laser procedures performed by doctors. It all depends on the damage you’ve done and how far you’re willing to go to repair it.

Top Tips

A good first step, experts say, is to slough off some of your damaged outer layers by exfoliating once or twice a week. Not only will you remove debris, but you’ll stimulate skin’s re-growth

Follow up with a heavier lotion than you used during the summer, especially if you’re living in a climate where the temperature and humidity levels are beginning to drop.

N.V. Perricone M.D. Body Hydrator might also do the trick. This body cream is rich in the natural antioxidant polyphenols, from olive oil, said to hydrate and brighten skin.

If you’re looking for over-the-counter help in getting rid of sun spots, SK-II recently launched its Whitening Source DermDefinition, which aims to reset skin’s tone and color by stopping the overproduction of melanin.

Fall is also the perfect time to try rejuvenating retinoids, such as Retin-A or Tazorac. Over time, they can reverse some premature wrinkling caused by sun exposure. Products containing hydroquinone also can resolve skin pigment or discoloration problems by lightening dark spots.

Another alternative for people who want more dramatic results is a PhotoFacial, a series of gentle pulsed light treatments that can improve the appearance of sun-damaged and aged skin.

It’s also never a bad time to hydrate your skin from the inside out. Borba Skin Balance Waters contain lychee extract to promote hydration and green tea extract and vitamins K and E to make skin glow. And if that’s not enough, vitamin A, papaya and guava extracts maximize skin moisture levels.

Making waves is high on the menu at Germany’s new-age spas

massage-water.jpg

Germany’s excellent train system makes this one of the best ways of travelling from spa to spa. For more information visit raileurope.com or telephone 1-800-361-RAIL.Thermal baths are aimed at younger crowd and blur the line between reality and art installation.

BADEN-BADEN, Germany–If I wasn’t lying here naked like Gollum on an iceberg I’d be enjoying the Blue Space liquid relaxation room more, but here at this famous thermal bath, the Caracalla Therme, the sauna area is clothing-free, so if I want to sweat I have to strip.

The Blue Space, designed by Viennese artists, sha. & GTT evokes the serenity of air, sky and water. The new truth that occurs to me is that the venerable spa tradition in Germany is changing, shaking off its old-fashioned image to attract a younger, more active spa-goer. At least in ritzy Baden-Baden.

Tucked into the hills of the Black Forest, Baiersbronn is impossibly picturesque. Pine trees gleam in the sun, geraniums spill from windowsills and it seems unlikely that anything hip could infiltrate its firm folkloric foundations.

To test the waters, I sign up for a traditional Zuberbaden at the Hotel Lamm.

The Zuberbaden, loosely translated as a bath in a monstrous wooden tub, dates back about 200 years when villagers didn’t have washing facilities in their homes but used communal baths. After entering the log cabin bathhouse behind the hotel, I am given baggy shorts, a bandeau top and cotton teardrop-shaped shower hat.

It’s a DIY bath, I soon learn from my blond therapist, Sibella. This salt is a special healing mix blended with semi-precious stones like onyx and rose quartz.

After the salt scrub, which stings, the tub is filled with water. A popular ski resort and hiking destination, it’s home to Germany’s highest peak, the Zugspitze.

The lofty mountains and alpine meadows have contributed to a popular spa treatment called a Hay Bath. This, I learn at the Hotel Zugspitze’s spa, doesn’t involve bathing in water at all. It entails lying on top of it, by means of a high-tech machine called a soft-pack couch that resembles a tub with a treatment table on top. Over the table is a bed of sweet-smelling hay, certified organic and grown at high altitudes.

It’s hot. To get my mind off the heat, I rock from side to side, creating gentle waves. The Germans are amazing, I think, lolling back and forth on my bed of fragrant greenery. Not only have they revamped their spas, they’ve updated a roll in the hay.
