New spa professional career guide.

Don’t you wish someone had told you exactly what to expect when you started your first job? There’s no doubt that things would have probably gone a lot smoother!
Aspiring spa professionals can now breathe a sigh of relief because the International SPA Association has developed the Spa Professional Career Guide to put them ahead of the game in the competitive spa career arena.
“Providing the educational tools to strengthen and sustain the spa industry’s labor pool is a key objective for the association,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “By offering real-world guidance, the Spa Professional Career Guide acts as a road map for those who want to learn about the daily tasks and expectations associated with a spa career.”
Released by the American Massage Therapy Association’s National Convention, the guide begins by covering the history and state of today’s spa industry. There is a large section on what to expect from a spa career, which includes information on everything from folding towels to how much product to use during treatments. Also included are interview tips, information on benefits and wages, and ways to advance your career within and outside of the spa industry.
Developed over several years by voluntary task force members of ISPA, the guide will be offered in an electronic PDF format so that it may be updated as new information becomes available. Available at the 2007 ISPA Conference & Expo in November, the Spa Professional Career Guide is a free benefit to ISPA members.
