Two Simonson’s Salon Employees Receive “Best of Maple Grove” Honor
Two Simonson’s Salon & Spa employees recently received the “Best of Maple Grove” honor from readers and were featured in the May/June 2008 issue of Maple Grove Magazine. Hair stylist Andy Richardson and massage therapist Jenny Baker were surprised and delighted by the recognition and validation of their talent and skills.
“There’s tremendous gratification in accomplishments both large and small. However, the most rewarding aspect of being a business owner is the joy of nurturing your team to achieve their fullest potential,” said Kyle Simonson, owner/president, Simonson’s Salon & Day Spa, which offers hair, face, body, nail, and medspa services and products for men and women at several locations in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. metropolitan area.
Jenny Baker said she was “thrilled” after learning that she took home the title for the “Best Massage Therapist” in Maple Grove. “I’ve never had an honor like this before,” said Baker, who has worked at Simonson’s for the past nine years. “I love making people feel better. My whole goal in life is to make people feel better.”
When Andy Richardson first found out that he had won the “Best Hair Stylist” title in the annual readers’ survey, he said that he “felt a little bit odd.” Richardson has worked at Simonson’s for about five and a half years, and said he loves his clients and working at the salon. Readers of the magazine also like him and report that Richardson “is pretty fabulous at his job.”
“Jenny and Andy are both exceptionally deserving recipients of the ‘Best of Maple Grove’ honor. With their unique blend of talent, experience, and commitment, they exemplify what most clients and organizations search for in their professional relationships,” said Simonson, who was recently listed as one of the “Top 25 Women-Owned Businesses” in 2008 by The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.
