The Stoneleigh Hotel has been getting accolades for its recent extreme makeover; now the historic hot spot is ready to return the favor.
The hotel’s new spa, a 5,200-square-foot subterranean retreat rich in wood and marble, is now open for pampering. Expect the elegance of a grand hotel but in a cozy space that includes men’s and women’s saunas, a fitness center, a tearoom, and hairstyling, manicure and facial salons.
Treatments skew toward Eastern influences with an emphasis on ayurvedic practices. Case in point: The shirodhara bowl aims to induce nirvana with a continuous slow stream of warmed essential oils that flow onto the forehead and into your hair. Stocked skin-care goodies include Sonya Dakar’s UltraLuxe line, B. Kamins for men, Eminence, Davi Skin and Spa Ritual.
