Since 1973, Green Mountain at Fox Run has developed and refined a life-changing program exclusively for women, to help them achieve a healthy weight and begin to feel good about themselves again, while living free of dieting and preoccupation with food. Not gimmicky or faddish, Green Mountain’s program is based on a scientific understanding of how women’s bodies work and an intuitive understanding of women’s struggles with weight.
This time-tested program is directed by caring, skilled professionals in nutrition, metabolism, exercise physiology, kinesiology, psychology and stress management. Their goal: To liberate women from the tyranny of diets, poor body image and poor self-esteem. In small groups (maximum enrollment is 36 women), registered dietitians inspire women by teaching how to eat instead of starve, and how to enjoy meals and snacks that feature a healthy blend of pleasure and good nutrition. Exercise physiologists instill the joy of movement through fun, feel-good physical activities in which women, regardless of fitness status, can participate. Green Mountain’s behaviorist helps women understand attitudes and behaviors that defeat weight management efforts, and change their thinking to change their lives for the better.
