FACES DaySpa of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, was recently selected as the Southeastern regional winner of America’s Small Business of the Year award. The award was presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce during America’s Small Business Summit in Washington, D.C. on May 12, 2009.
The states represented in the Southeastern region include Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Mississippi, and Washington, DC. One finalist was selected from each of seven regions across the country from among the winners of the U.S. Chamber Blue Ribbon Small Business Award. FACES DaySpa has been a recipient of the Blue Ribbon Small Business Award for four years in a row.

Owner, Patricia Owen has guided FACES DaySpa from its inception as a small boutique specializing in Estee Lauder cosmetics to its current status as a nationally renowned day spa profiled in major publications. When it opened in 1983, FACES Boutique featured Hilton Head Island’s first Estee Lauder cosmetics department. In 1988, Owen reinvented her business, jumping into the professional skin care industry. Today, FACES is located in a 3,000 square foot facility with six treatment rooms, a beauty boutique, and its own private line of skincare, cosmetic, and bath and body products. It has a client base of nearly 4,500 locals and was named one of the Nation’s Fastest-Growing Spas by Salon Today magazine five times. In 2006, FACES was named the South Carolina Small Business of the Year and was a finalist for the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award at the Global Salon Business Awards.
