One half of the 1,100 resort acres have been carefully preserved as a natural habitat. Guests can observe and enjoy unique desert flora and fauna, including saguaros cacti, palo verde, mesquite, deer, rabbits, coyotes and Gambel’s quail. The resort grounds are bordered by the Coronado National Forest.
The resort’s two 18-hole championship golf courses were designed by Tom Fazio. The two courses have been recognized for their conservation and preservation efforts by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. The resort’s signature golf hole is the #3 of the Mountain Course which offers spectacular views of the Sonoran Desert. Guests at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon can take private golf lessons or participate in golf clinics for all ability levels.
The resort offers 12 hard surface tennis courts and a stadium exhibition court where guests can participate in various tennis tournaments. The outdoor swimming pool area includes a heated pool, lounge chairs, play areas and a children’s wading pool.
