Onsen In Japan
An onsen is a mineral hot spring where the Japanese go to communally bathe, usually in the nude, and relieve stress. For some, the experience can be an all-day affair. Onsens can range from public, open-air pools to large private baths–it all depends on where you go. Dogo Onsen, located in Matsuyama, is among the oldest and most famous in Japan and has a wooden public bath house that dates back to the late 1800s. After bathing, indulge in Japanese tea and sweets.
