Weight Watchers

Want a well balanced, effective and proven way to lose that extra weight? Join one of the most successful weight-loss programs of all time – WeightWatchers. Started in the early 1960’s by Jean Nidetch, WeightWatchers has evolved into a world-wide empire that helps millions of dieters lose weight every day – and love every minute of it! Who says losing weight has to be traumatic? With the WeightWatchers system, you choose the program plan you want to follow, and you use grocery store food to accomplish your goals.

Diet Keys

Once a week, get motivated and inspired by the success stories of those around you and learn their tips and secrets. You’ll also weigh-in privately  and be the first to have an opportunity to see, taste and purchase all of the company’s new diet foods and treats.

No pressure here though – no one is trying to get you to buy anything – all kinds of weight-loss tools are available, but it is strictly up to you whether to purchase or not.

Weight Watchers

The atmosphere is up-beat and fun – you’ll be cheered for your weight-loss, and receive sympathy if the scale didn’t budge. There IS strength in numbers fellow dieters! If meetings are not for you, try the on-line WeightWatchers  program and lose weight in the privacy of your own home. Fees are the same, but are paid up front for a specified period of time. All the same inspirational and motivational tools are available as well as chat rooms and forums.

On-line tools like recipes, restaurant ideas, exercise programs, and phone assistance is available to all program patrons. The grocery stores are full of WeightWatcher’s foods and treats to help you on your journey, and a variety of cookbooks can be found in bookstores and on-line.

Cost

For a small one-time registration fee of $20.00 and a weekly meeting fee of $12.00 – you can attend a meeting and hear from a teacher and coach who has been, or still is experiencing personal success on the WeightWatcher’s program. If you prefer, join the on-line program and experience all the same benefits in the privacy of your home. On-line fees are $5.00 per week billed quarterly, at $65.00. Cancellation may be done at any time.

Pros

•           Solid, sensible program with many food options
•           Incorporates exercise
•           Support Groups are available

Cons

•           Weight loss is somewhat slow
•           Those who do the on-line program must stay self-motivated
•           Prepared foods are high in sodium (if dieters decide to use them)

Diet Summary

For a complete approach to losing weight, this program has really done it right! The WeightWatcher philosophy is a lifestyle change that will help you lose weight – and learn to keep it off for the rest of your life. The program is relatively simple and many dieters enjoy the support the classes offer – but the on-line program is good also. The program does incorporate exercise and lifestyle ideas that are beneficial and will help you on the weight loss journey.
